Call me old fashioned, but I believe that marriage should be until death do you part. Isn't that still part of the wedding vows? If two people don't have that mindset to grow old with each other, then they just need to stay single. Marriage shouldn't be on a trial basis like some money back guarantee. If both parties aren't willing to work at making a marriage successful, then they need to keep God and the legal system out of it.

"Do you _______ agree to take _______ to be your lawfully wedded husband/wife for better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part........or at least for two years."

What is that?!?

Read this earlier. I think that the divorce rate in North America is alarming, but this is not the answer. People should just live together if they are not sure about a commitment. The whole point of marriage is making a commitment to another person, and it is WORK and COMPROMISE, people! People seemed to have forgotten this nowadays.

Marriage is a lifetime commitment. If you don't want to be with that person forever, then don't marry them. That's the whole point of marriage...
