A question for Indian people?

I am a white British guy.I am currently living in India. Since I am interested in Indian culture especially Hinduism. I am an exchange student here.I met a lovely woman there and I am in relationship with her. Whenever we both go out, we get lot of staring even in Mumbai. It's okay because inter-ethnic relationship aren't much common here. But Indian men give us dirty looks some times. When my girlfriend told to her male acquaintance that she is in relationship with a white guy, he was like 'couldn't you get an Indian guy? Why white?' When we went to a mall, one guy told to his friend in Hindi(he probably thought that I won't understand Hindi)that 'these "ferangs" should stay away from "our" girls'
Why Indian men get so mad when they see Indian woman with a white guy?

unfortunately, india is still a man's world. When an indian guy dates someone who's foreign everyone cheers them and then start bitching about indian women. but if an indian women marries a non indian out comes all the bigotry. The reason behind this is that some indian men are incredibly insecure because of colonialism. White men are considered to be more attractive than your average indian male by our standards. and of course there are less women than men here. for every one woman there are atleast 4 guys wooing her.

But of course, not all indian men are the same. The educated younger generation is really awesome and open minded. The most you can do now is either ignore such idiots who make those comments or confront them.

You are right in saying that inter-racial relationships are not common here and the reason behind this is Indian culture. Forget about marrying someone from another country, here it's hard to marry outside the caste (I hope you're familiar with the caste system) to which a person belongs. If you two love each other and are ready to take your relationship to the next level, I'd advise you to get married and somehow return to the UK. There are just too many people who possess backward beliefs and they'll never allow you to live a peaceful life here.

Don't feel for anything. They may be jealous of you for getting such a beautiful girl here though you came from abroad. :p

There are lot of people who respects everyone equally without seeing any differences. Actually lot of people trust that the abroad people's culture is not good. They don't know that everyone will not be like that.



I don't like mumbai. The worst city in India. If you come some country side you can feel the real love and affection of Indians. As well as in all countries, here also good and bad.

The thing is that india is made up of 87% hindu



When the british came to india they plundered it & the Christians of England started to tamper with the hindu scriptures, Putting such things as a WHITE MASTER RACE RULED OVER THEM lol which was dubbed as the aryan theory, it is known as one of the most underhanded move that the british did to try and convert and rule the people of india.



p.s the aryan theory is now worthless but it still haunts them but also Our Royal Family of England stole their diamond and gold and wealth, the diamond which is in the queens crown is worth around 15 billion English pounds & its stolen from india.



Also the racist attacks on indians in white nations are just always headlines in india so the media really messes with peoples heads, i would advise you to buy a hindu om sign and just wear it around your neck to make the gesture that you are into their culture.

I don't think they hate white guys. But from my experience Indians have a habit of getting too interested in other peoples' lives, and they don't easily accept anything that's not 'normal' or conventional. Also, most Indians have been brought up in families that think that it's important to marry within one's own race. So it's not only white guys that they are opposed to, but anyone outside of their race. Things are changing in many places though, but at a very slow pace!

Indians are protective of their girls. We are at the same maturity level as say you guys were 40 years ago when inter racial relations were looked down upon. Our society has not matured to that lvl. If you stay with her you will get those staring unless you get married to her. That is when no one will have problems :D or you guys move to the wwest where inter racial relation ships are a norm now a days.

This can lead to assaults by Shiv Sena ,



Wear a Tikka and Indian dress and people will assume that you are a white Hindu and not bother you



With regular dress they think you are Christian man dating Hindu woman and hence target of assault



Hindus are more bothered about religion than race. An Indian muslim man dating a Hindu woman or

an Indian christian man dating Hindu woman can lead to assault

Hey, sorry about other rude answers. To me the love is important than your culture, ethnicity or color. As far as you love her, you can very well move along with her. the thing is in india number of girls as compared to boys are much less....n its normal every one wishes for a good gf.....but because of lack of girls some of them r geting frustated n commenting on others...mostly those who r not fair n don't hv gud luks...



u should not pay attention to them n enjoy yr life...they just the loosers...so they just get very easily frustated or jelousy whenever they see couples...its not only on u even if u were indian or in indian colour they would hv comented something.....
