Question:
Why don’t men take dating apps serious ? ?

I haven’t spoken to anyone first.  I’ve been open minded to men of all looks and a compatible personality. But the guys on there are just looking for sex or say hey sexy. I’m in my early 20s. I got on pof because a friend told me to try it out because they’re on it. But in person and even online men are always mentioning sex or don’t want a relationship. I’m starting to lose hope. I’ve spoken to men between 25-27 and all of them want the same thing. Why don’t they want real relationships anymore and why get on a dating app looking for sex ?

They take them "seriously" as a way to get sex. Things like Tinder, OKCupid, POF and the like ARE considered more "hookup" than relationship building. So if you want to use an app/site for serious things you'll need to go with the ones that mater more to that. Any time you can post a profile without having taken any kind of personality survey it's generally an app just meant for brief encounters.

Most men go on dating apps when they're looking for a sexual partner. Many are actually married and looking for a little extra on the side. Source: Been there and done it.

Well, first off, just because we go out on a date with someone, we aren't "in a relationship" with them right off the bat and may never be. Getting to that point means feeling a connection and attraction, and most of the time, we don't feel it anyway.

And dating sites and apps are all about sex for most these days. Just put it out there that you're looking for a potential relationship, not sex right off the bat. I don't know how else you can say it.

Guys want to know if the sex is good before they start looking for relationships. It's not worth spending the time or the money looking for a girl they can live with, if the sex isn't good enough. Most females are clueless when it comes to how much sex a man wants. The sad fact is most men don't know how to turn a female on.

POF is like the fithy bar in the bad part of town of dating websites.  The typical patrons are not going to be very sophisticated or looking for anything serious.    Most educated people with good jobs will be using match.com or eHarmony.  Like a lot of things you get what you pay for.  The best free site is OKCupid, but again it really depends on how much effort you put into your profile and what the people in your specific area are using.  Online dating is not fun, but it will help you meet someone if that's your goal.

Most dating apps are used as hook up sites.

Majority of people on dating apps are only looking for hook ups
