Ok girls, what do you really mean when you say you LOVE sense of humor?

because that's not the case.

plenty of guys out there are funny and have a great sense of humor, and they're also running solo.

i just don't believe that. i've asked the question before, i've seen tons of others here, and in real life ask that question.. tv.. wherever, and girls ALWAYS respond with "sense of humor!" to whatever "why/what are you attracted ______?" - type question.

so what is it REALLY? and WHY do girls always use the sense of humor response? it seems like such a cop out for people to embarassed to admit they're shallow. theres no other logical reasoning for me.

Just like beauty, humor is in the eye..er, mind?...of the beholder. What's funny to you is probably not funny to some girl. So you can't just say, Well I thought this guy was funny but he doesn't seem to get girls. Also, they guy may be unattractive in another way.



Personally, a sense of humor is one of the top 3 things that makes a man attractive. BUT it has to be tasteful, witty humor. I don't like crude humor, like in that horrid movie "Superbad". If they can only make jokes about flatulence and body fluids, they just appear immature and stupid. On the other hand, if they can make a quick-witted comment right then and there, I'd be very impressed.



Honestly, I'd date someone like Jack Black, not too easy on the eyes but very funny. I may be wrong, but I think Jack Black is taken, and the woman is rather attractive.



And I'd have to make a rebuttal against your statement about girls wanting to sound less shallow. If a girl really wanted to sound less shallow, she'd say, "I want a NICE man." I think that's a cop-out. When most girls say they like a sense of humor, they mean that they want someone who can make them laugh and who isn't such a sore all the time. A sense of humor is a sign that the man is also fun-loving, smart, and witty. So it's really just a vague description that encompasses many characteristics.

I've met tons of girls and I would say maybe 3-4 had a sense of humor themselves

what is funny to a guy is not funny to a girl

the reason that is happening is because men think logically and women think emotionally



has it not happen to you that you tell your friend a joke and he cracks up laughing and his girlfriend next to him says" that wasn't even funny"

Personally, I adore that 'smart' sense of humor outcome from a cool and repsectable guy.



I am said to be funny and intuitive. I get well to everyone's response and actions. That's why people, especially boys, find me more attractive than my looks are.

I mean exactly what I say! I LOVE when a guy is funny and we can laugh together. I have a HUGE sense of humor and if you can't keep up..Tah-Tah...just kidding. I do love someone with a sense of humor though for real!!

It means what it means (duh)!!! When we say we like a guy with a sense of humor.. it means that we dig guys that can make us laugh! someone who can distinguish between an appropriate joke and a not so appropriate joke (and use them accordingly) and someone who isn't so serious all the time, meaning that they can crack a joke.i mean.. come on, who wants to date a very serious guy?



and usually when we are asked these questions.. we base it on what we want in a guy.

looks do play a role, but personality is what matters most :P

when we say we love/like guys with sense of humor, it doesnt necessarily mean that we only fall for them. there's also got to be a connection. your humor and the girl's humor has got to be in the same level for the girl to like you. but that's not all that we look for. having a sense of humor is just a big plus for the guy.

I have been the victim of this particular trend... My guess is that it has something to do with the sort of guys who tend to say they "have a sense of humor". We tend to be funny, but quiet. It's hard to get to like a guy who doesn't talk.

he makes cute sarcastic comments about say...whatever you're watching on tv!



just not joking rudely about someone else - thats a turnoff. ew.

most guys have their own sense of humour.. some that joke around too much get annoying!

We girls love to laugh, but we also like to think that any future man of ours will treat us like a lady and a queen, so if you're constantly telling fart jokes, what does that tell us???

We want someone to make us laugh, but also someone to think we're funny. No one really wants to be known as that boring girl that dates that awesomely funny guy... give the girl a chance to shine (yes, we really are THAT obsessed with ourselves!).

there are lots of guys i know who are hilarious and i would definitely go for but they are also the same guys who take forever to ask a girl on a date. guys need to man up and ask the girl. we will say yes.
