Every thing about me is pretty normal.... But I am overweight (currently trying to lose weight :/) and I can be kind of shy around boys I don't know... Is this why other boys my age (14) don't like me? I've never had a boyfriend before and I am VERY insecure about my weight. Is this why no boy has ever tried to talk to me? Help! Please be honest... I need real answers!

honestly, first impressions are quite important... but what you need to do is try and not be too shy so that guys can see what you're like as a person. otherwise all they'll see is that first impression

Do not worry you are not alone. Im the same way, a little overweight and shy. If guys are not talking to you its cause they are dumb, and base everything on appearances, not personality. I am also insecure about my body, and I feel like it is holding me back in making friends, and talking to boys. If you want boys to notice you a little more show them that you are still a great girl even though you are not a barbie doll. Be more outgoing, have confidence in yourself. Don't fret it will come in time.

I know a girl, she's a little overweight, and short.. She's had countless boyfriends.. So it's not why. Shy, can be the issue though. She's usually one to make the first step. So if you REALLY want to get into the whole dating world, you may have to change that about yourself.

I would say your shyness has more to do with it than your weight. Some guys don't even like skinny girls. But a lot of guys are also nervous to approach girls which is why you find them flocking to those really outgoing, flirty, popular girls - those girls make it easier for a guy to approach them. If your weight really bothers you - that's something you fix for you. Boys will come. 14 is young to have a boyfriend anyway.

Girl, it's not even worth trying to find a guy.

I got a boyfriend when I was 15. Fell in love with him, and dropped out of highschool to spend all my time with him. Im 17 now, we're still together but struggling very hard to live ( we live on our own). My parents kicked me out of my house because I got more wrapped up in a boyfriend then going to school.

Focus on school, and dont worry about guys until you're out of school. Trust me its for the best.

And guys are much more mature when you're a little older, and most are worried about looks so much anymore. Most are more worried about a good personality. So stay happy, and postive, and quit worrying about guys so much. Trust me!

It could have some bearing on it, so you might want to exercise and try to lose some weight. But, kids in high school are fickle. You often times won't find true friends till you go to college or get out in the real world.

Boys who are 14 don't like fat girls but it depends on how fat you you are and if want to get guys to notice you then go up to them and just talk to them DON'T BE SHY! Guys love it when girls come up to them and talk! And this coming from a 14 year old boy !

Look girl, guys that age only care about looks, some money, and a good time, don't worry, there is nothing wrong with you. Trust me, I'm 16 and still dealin with immature assholey dudes.

Sorry, but a lot of boys judge on first sight. They don't really care who you are, if you don't look good, then they don't want to know you. Just TRY to change your image... Sorry

because you are insecure and shy you are possibly giving off "vibes" sometimes shyness can be mistaken for being stand offish and don't forget they are probably shy too
