Question:
Is it normal that my boyfriend doesn't want pictures on social media?

My boyfriend of 6 years hates having his pictures on social media. He doesn't care if I post pics or videos of him on snapchat but I can never post anything of him on Facebook and Instagram. It's been like this before we started dating. His accounts never have pictures of himself. He doesn't allow his cousins, family members or myself to post pictures of him. I find it weird that he is so paranoid or private. I know for sure it has nothing to do with another woman because he is with me like 24/7 and before he asked me out, he never had pictures of himself. He is a very handsome guy, a little chubby though ... But I do not see what is the big deal

Social media use seems abnormal in the first place. Your boyfriend seems reasonable, everyone else is nuts.

Some people are just more private. He just doesn't want his pictures up on social media.

He likes his privacy and deserves to be respected. He may not even know the exact reason he doesn't want his pictures up on the internet... but YOU need to leave it alone and accept him for who he is....a person who prefers not to have his picture plastered all over social media

My best friend is like that :3 she hates having anything of herself up on media,, and I used to hate it too. It just feels like you're being judged, and really it's no one's business. The people who matter to him can see him and have photos etc - hence you being allowed to do the snapchat stuff :3 but strangers on the internet can go f*ck themselves~

Or perhaps, like Blue Sky said, he's had a bad experience with it.

He could either not like the way he looks, and may have a confidence issue or may just not like it.

Everyone has things about themselves which make them feel insecure.

Also pictures on snapchat do expire, so maybe he is comfortable with knowing that the picture won't be able to be seen by everyone forever.

You should also respect his decision not to post pictures of him because it is the way he wants it to be.

He does sound a bit paranoid, but I don't see anything wrong with it. Perhaps he had a negative experience in the past.
