Dude, that's why god created air freshener...Just get you one of those thing that stand up, with a pleasant smell and whala problem solved.

Now with her it could be several reasons why. For one, she may not use deodorant or she forgot to take the wrapper off the soap....She could have medical issues that she really needs to see a doctor for...Or she really just like the El Natural smell...Anyways i feel for you dude....I know when we in the fire dept came upon a body that, lets say has been dead for awhile. We put some Vick's Vapor Rub under our noses, that way the stink doesn't kill us.

I've been there. It's really a tough spot to be in when you don't want to be offensive. May I suggest you and your co workers chip in and get her a gift basket from Bath & Body Works or Victoria's Secret? Get one that has soaps, body wash and body spray. If it's as bad as you say, throw in some perfume. The holidays are here so timing couldn't be better. The down side is if she doesn't use it. Good Luck!

Is it body odor or some type of diet (lots of garlic, curry, etc.) or just a lack of basic cleanliness? Go to your manager, or human resources dept. They should have a way to tactfully approach this woman. There may even be something in an employee handbook regarding hygiene, even the use of strong perfumes, etc. that are offensive, or irritate certain allergy sufferers.

I think it would be rude to tell her straight up, so this is what I would do:

Go to WalMart or any store that sales perfumes and body sprays and get her a gift basket of smelly goods. Attach

a note saying "from a secret admirer".

Hopefully she'll be thrilled some one cared that much and will actually use it.

Good Luck with that!

Nothing! I've had two experiences where I worked with a person who had tremendous B.O. In one case, I was the person's manager.

Unless you're willing to really hurt a person's feelings and create insurmountable workplace animosity, which most normal people don't like to do, you just have to deal with it. There's just no polite way to say "hey, you stink."

Maybe she dosent realize she stinks, you could ask a female employee to nicely say that her perfume(we all know she dosent have any on) bothers others and it dosent smell good. Well of course she isent wearing perfume so maybe she will just decide hey i smell like crap! This way your not flat out saying SHE reeks but saying her PERFUME reeks.

tell your co-workers bout this plan.

Type (don't write) an anonymous letter that said "please take a bath or wear perfume, cos you have a bad smell" and put it somewhere that she can find.

She'll go crazy and asked "who made this letter". don't confess. maybe she'll asked to other person about their opinion. When she do that, everybody should say to her that her smell is bad.

Maybe she doesnt shower, she doesnt use deoderant, or her house is smelly.

Give her some body spray. Or get you guys a can of air freshner. It blocks out bad odors and leaves a fresh scent =]

Your kinda gonna need to resort to having a little talk with your boss and have them have a little sit down with her...

If you say something she can get you fired so it is up to management to settle the matter in a tactful way!

Good Luck!

You need to tell her. Don't be rude about it and keep it just between you both. By saying that you and your fellow workmates have a problem with it, may upset her.

Just say (name) I don't mean to be rude, but I have to tell you that you are letting a odour off.

She may not be able to smell herself.

try an air freshner in that area and for a "fall gift" you could give her a good smelling cheap spray. or candles give pretty good aroma too. other than that, without being rude, there is pretty much nothing that you can do!!

i'd say around her: something stinks in here, do you smell it? damn its really bad!

and look around, not giving a hint that its her, cause you dont want her to notice. and ladies notice things faster than men do.... sumhow.

What does it smell like? B.O.? Liquor? Cats? Cigarettes? Maybe she honestly does not know! If you don't feel comfortable talking to her, maybe your boss could take her aside...

Doesn't your employer have rules about personal hygiene? Perhaps management needs to speak with her.

(1) Put an anonymous note on her chair explaining that she has an unpleasant aroma; or (2) complain to HR -- i.e., make your problem someone else's; or (3) put a "plug-in" near her desk/cubicle/office with a note on it "do not remove -- essential odor protection."
