My brother met a girl last year and they dated for a while. He then told her months down the line a list of reasons of why they couldnt have a future together. She accepted that and they became friends. Now they are friends and he is trying to find the perfect girl online and he is such an idiot. He texts his 'friend' all the time and gets upset if she does something that he doesn't like. He likes her obviously but he won't tell her he is an idiot because he thinks he will find someone better. I don't understand him at all.

The girl isnt dating anyone else and they are friends in touch but it's like he has her on the side whilst looking for other girls.

Why do men do that? Why is he looking for reasons to not be with her? Im worried that he will get regret this in years to come and then it will be too late. I just wanted to know why men do that? He fancies her- flirts on text with her which I've seen. She doesnt flirt back actually and is just really nice and he knows she is nice so what on earth is he waiting for? For her to meet someone else?? She is right for him

She's right for him - in YOUR opinion. He clearly has other ideas.

Maybe he will regret it further down the line, but who your brother dates is his own business. He must make his own choices and mistakes.

If he was that serious about her then he would have made it happen by now, or he wouldn't have broken up with her in the first place. There must be a reason why it hasn't worked out. Even if they are right for each other, it's up to him to realise that by himself.

The song 'Desperado' comes to mind. It's cause he feels that he may to to sew his seeds, he doesn't want to settle yet or he is under peer pressure. He is wasting his time on online dating and in reality if he met her he would have to get to know them and date them to see if they are the 'one' for him.

It is what your brother thinks that matters.
