It is horrible for people to discriminate, they do so out of fear and lack of knowledge. If they think they are superior it is sad. Read the book "Five Smooth Stones" It is back in the 60s when a Black guy falls in love with a white girl. When I started dating girls of other races there were more people against it than now.



I have dated girls of many races, in fact I am more attracted to darker girls. I married a Filipina and we had 2 kids and we were married for 19 years and most of those years were great. We did run into people that were racists and it was hard. The other part is having the family on both sides accept both the husband and the wife. We did not really care what people thought but it does make it easier if the family likes you. The culture was very very different and I tried my best to get into it as best I could. The food was also very different and they always spoke different languages when we were at parties and I could never understand. I tried to learn Tagalog but not only was it hard but they were mixing in other languages as well. It is horrible for people to discriminate. The bible talks about it but that is more about marrying someone outside your beliefs. Even now you can do that but it is easier if they believe the same way you do.



My second wife is from Guatemala and we have been married almost 4 years now and there are also some culture changes, food differences (I love it) and her family has been wonderful to me. I visited Guatemala last year to meet her family and I went alone and it was a great trip.



I feel that interracial dating is changing the world for the better. I live in Salt Lake City. The Mormons currently have about 60,000 missionaries throughout the world and when they come home many times they will go back to the different countries and date or bring back a fiance. Other times they are attracted to the people and will meet someone that is from where they served their mission or that speaks the same language that they learned on their mission. This is happening more and more and in my opinion it is a good thing bringing the races together.



My Dad told me he would disown me if I dated a black girl so I never told him. He felt the Mexicans should go back to Mexico, the Blacks should go back to Africa and everyone else should just go back so I told him he should go back to Scotland and he just got mad.



Sometimes the girl and the guy are just fine with it and the family tries to ruin it.



My kids are of mixed race and they are beautiful and I love them.

no i don't think it should be permitted. There's attractive people with great personalities from every race but people need to acknowledge the fact that they have to stick to their own kind. It's beneficial to children. For example, Tiger Woods is only 25% Black, but the Blacks are going crazy for him and they have established him as his own as if the asians/oriental part of him is non-existent. All in all, it further divides and isolates in-laws, etc and overall it has a negative effect to society. I am an opponent of interracial marriage but don't really care that much about gay marriage.

Regardless of the statistics on interracial relationships, deciding to date or marry someone of another race is a personal decision. You are likely to face more challenges and possibly family scrutiny if you marry someone of another race. But in return, you have the possibility of enjoying a diversity that same-race couples will never know.



When looking for love, look beyond race, and for that matter, beyond appearance, social status and economic bracket as well. By doing so, you increase your opportunities to find a satisfying, loving relationship.
