Question:
Should I apologize to him? It was just a joke...?

I have this guy friend, and we take jabs at each other and make snarky comments, but its all in good fun. He'll call me a white girl, and he's Asian so I'll call him Yellow, or whatever.

Today he texted me and asked what I was up to, I texted back playfully, in a Chinese accent, substituted all the "r's" in my text with "l's", and he didnt respond. I called and then texted another joke, "Are you taking a dump?", but nothing.

Usually he calls right back.

Should I apologize? What would you do?

I would go ahead and apologize. If he's hurt then you did the right thing and if he just ended up getting busy he will write back saying so.

Yeah i think you should because as you said maybe he found it offensive. You really have to be careful making those sorts of jokes its all fun and games till someone gets hurt. Dont change your relationship the way you have it now but maybe you both need to be a bit more careful with the jokes you stab at eachother. :)

Call him up tomorrow, and check to see if you offended him.

Lots of things could have happened. Maybe he just ran out of credit?

But if you did offend him, then apologize. You wouldnt want a good friendship to go down the drain

say im sorry....that you cant take a joke. Try to find out that is going on. Ask him again if he was still taking a dump becuase it could be a worlds record. try to make light of it like it didnt even happen

No, I don't think you have to apologies because One of my friend is chinese and I say things like " OMG another Made In China product, Its all ur fault " But she would say mean amarican jokes back.

As long as ur friends it's okay.

yes apologize, but as soon as he accepts it, throw this line :"wanna see my kung-fu?" as you mouth off more syllables than there are. like those dubbed chinese to english movies. and give him a hug

You should ask him if he was offended by what you said, and if he says he is, u should apologize. If he isn't, ask y he didn't answer back.

lol. owned. no you shouldn't apologize. if he can't take that joke then he doesn't deserve friends like you. I love racial jokes. They're so freakin funny.

haha, I wouldn't care. It's not racist - in my opinion - don't say sorry directly, just make a hint.

I would just wait for him to contact you
