why do cheaters try remain in relationships with the person they cheat on?

I would honestly prefer if a partner wanted to sleep with someone else they would just dump me or tell me straight, but no it's this weird af thing where cheaters still remain in the relationship. Why tho? why don't they just f*ck off instead of messing around? clearly they don't like the relationship otherwise they wouldn't cheat. I also hate when people try use drinking or drugs as an excuse of cheating on their s/o, I find cheating really cowardly and pathetic also deserving of a good punch in the face. Like some people also go to ridiculous levels to cheat like paying over a grand for 'special services' or risking charges/jail time to get with night walkers, traveling long distances, expensive gifts, and so on. I'm sure they can get a lay out of their s/o for free or money or present too if they were that keen.

Not all cheaters hate their relationship, there's often outstanding reasons why they did it, but they still care about the person they are with. However, I agree, cheating is about as low as it gets in a relationship, and would rather know before then be lied to.

I knew a man who cheated on his wife all the time and when she found out it hurt her so much. men and women who cheat doesn't realize the damage it does to those who are in the relationship. Even if you care for someone, if you need to cheat then you obviously don't care enough to spare that person pain. It's selfish.

Because people want to feel both security and comfort as well as desire and a sense of mystery about someone of the opposite sex. By having an affair they can get both someone they are familiar with (i.e. the wife) and the unknown desirable person (i.e. the mistress). I find it completely disgusting and agree that they should pick one or the other.

Usually because they care about the person they are in the relationship with and enjoy being in that relationship. It's just that they also enjoy sex with someone new.

why do women like you think your so special?? believe it or not, it is possible to care about more than one person!!! If he does not want to leave you after cheating, its probably because he still cares about you!! women like you confuse lust with love!!! Once i found i was being cheated i broke up with him, i don't tolerate that and refused to hear your sorry. My recent ex, i dumped him. But if i wasn't encouraged by my sister i would still be with him.

Im trying to say, sometimes either they don't want to be alone, they like having control, they manipulate, or just think they're getting away with it.
