define troll?

i see this word a lot written on here, what does it mean? im guessin its someone whos a piss taker and gives rubbish answers. am i right? i thought a troll was a little leprechaun thing with crazy pink hair.....

Yeah, what they said. Usually they'll also pick someone that annoys them for some reason (or sometimes just because they're bored) and go through all of their answers and report them. Since the reports are never investigated (YA is on autopilot, remember?), you end up with a large number of violations, then you get suspended (which also deletes your email account that's associated with YA).



When it's on the weekends, it's usually kids who are out of school and have no friends, so they take out their anger here on YA anonymously.

Trolls, large brutish creatures that live alone in dark damp places (under bridges is a favourite), shun company and are generally evil. (not cute with big pink hair)

Trolls in a web sense are those who hang around forums just to stir up trouble. Posting naff comments, slagging people or things off as much as they can. They have the social skills and life of the trolls mentioned above.
