My best friend and I like the same girl. What do we do?

My best friend who I 've known for four years is currently a bit steamed at me because we like the same girl. The girl happens to be one of our best friends as well who I have known for five years and he has known for seven. She knows that he likes her and has rejected him multiple times (about 73 times though she did date him once) and I thought I was in the clear to ask her out, but my friend still likes her, a lot. He's already insanely mad that I even came on to her. Now I think that this girl and I could have a solid long relationship because we have similar interests and attitudes and I even get the feeling she likes me back. My friend only asks her out because of her body. I like this girl more than any other girl before but still is it worth losing my best friend who is usually the voice of insanity in my group? I feel I should just ask her out but I worry. And yes I am very lacking of common sense/basic knowledge.

Hey, I think you shd really date this girl out, regardless of what reasons that are holding you back. If you're not taking any actions, perhaps you're gonna to lose her soon.



I understand how you think and feel like right now, because you've got your buddy sandwiched in between. But you must clearly know what you want. Nothing shd stop you loving or courting this girl of your dreams. Go forward and let the girl know you like her alot and at the same time, tell your buddy seriously that you're going to court her. Hope all he can do is to give you the best wishes.



Let him know that sometimes things can't be forced, if the girl likes her, he needn't chase her and the girl will automatically come to her. But after so many years, things remained unchanged and it's time for him to move on too. Ask him to back off alittle, if not he's going to lose the girl as his best friend. Well you have to weigh your options. Theres no rulebook that says if your best friend goes after a girl, your not aloud to. Now generaly this does cause some commotion, but there are 4 basic choices you can make. First and formost you can just ignore your feelings and move onto another girl. This sucks, but it would cool your friend down a little. If your not willing to gamble a little, then maby you dont like this girl enough to date her. Second, you could just tell her, and if she says yes try to have a secret relationship behind her back, to keep both friends happy. Baaaaaaaad idea, as this ALLWAYS blows up in the persons face. 100% no on that idea. Third you can talk to your friend, ask him if it would be ok, and if he says no, you may have to respect that. This sucks, and it makes your friend belive he has quite a bit of control over you. You do not want that probably. but it is probably the only chance you could have your cake and eat it too. Last there is telling him in a friendly tone that you like her, and are going to try to go out with her. No if's maby's or kinda's. This could make him mad, but its not the end of the world. If you like the chick enough to realy date her, thats what i would sugjest.

Well you two can fight your a ss es off, cage fight, cock fight, wrestle, box, sword fight, whatever fight, but in the end you will realize this is over a chick that 5,10,20 years from now neither one of you will even remember. If he is a good friend, he will be there to cover your back, get you out of jams, jump in a fight with you, and sit down at the end of a day and have a beer with you. The chick isn't worth it.

okay this girl is getting in the way of your relationship with your friend. talk to him...if he doesnt listen then ok. but do not ask her out because then your friend will think you betrayed him. Look, if he says hes your best friend, and knows he has no chance with her, then he should be the one to worry, not you. He should know to respect both of your decisions, and if he really liked her, he would know to let her go for what truly is best. So if you feel that you and this girl can go far, then be with her, but you should talk to your friend and tell him what you just wrote. If he really is your friend, he should understand^_^
